YA Happening, YA Hopping


By now you guys are well aware that I have a soft spot for Young Adult literature. So it's only fitting that I'd want to join the latest YA celebration brought to you by Kathy here: http://www.iamareader.com/2012/11/young-adult-giveaway-hop.html

The thing I love best about this genre is its ability to transcend the boundaries of readership. The YA audience ranges from thirteen to thirty and then some. It speaks to that part of us that is, on some level, ageless.


The topics are relatable. Maybe it's an issue you're going through now, or you went through 20 years ago. It's familiar territory either way. As older readers, it's fun to take a stroll back in time and revisit those moments that defined and shaped our youth.

When I write I tend to channel my own inner-teen and hand her the mic. It seems she still has so much to say. Perhaps adolescence is something that we never really outgrow. Not entirely, anyway. And if you ask me, that isn't such a bad thing.

    YA Science Fiction and Fantasy. It's really hard to pick between those two.

    I like to read a variety of genres but I love YA. I am also really liking the New Adult genre. Anything in the romance category is usually a hit with me(YA, New Adult, Historical Fiction...)

    Normally I would say paranormal but I've come to love urban fantasy too :)

    I love YA books. I have to agree with you on how it makes us feel ageless. Its an escape for me to be young again. If that makes any sense.:) My favorite genre's are YA Urban Fantasy with romance or action/adventure, anything with vampires, witches, faeries, aliens well you get the picture. And my new favorite genre is YA Dystopian. Thank you for being a part of this fun and awesome blog hop!!

    I love paranormal and fantasy (both classic and urban).

    As for my favorite YA book, that's like asking a mother who her favorite child is. It's impossible. :)
